Nova Scotia Removes Doughnuts From Some Hospitals...

This following article from the Toronto Sun explains that there are 10 hospitals in Nova Scotia that are  removing doughnuts from their menu list. The province's largest health authority, says it's the first in Canada to take such action on healthy eating.

Tim Horton locations in the hospitals will not be allowed to sell some muffins and doughnuts that are considered to be unhealthy to visitors and employees. This is a very big step in the right direction. When we stop to think about it, we are living the largest obesity epidemic ever (adults and children).

These quick accessible foods in our daily lives are often a big part of why we are sick and end up in the emergency room in the first place. We need to start realizing that these are often the very foods that cause clogged arteries, heart attacks, stomach aches etc.....it is very encouraging to see health authorities starting to do something about this problem.

How often are there fund raisers selling doughnuts for causes like heart and stroke....maybe they could sell bottled water and walking shoes instead , it would help the cause that much more and definitely send the right message.

In health...
